Annual General Meeting 2017

The 2017 Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Windmill Gardens will be held on Wednesday 12 July, 7-9pm, at St Paul's Community Centre, 24 Blenheim Gardens, Brixton SW2 5BZ.

The Executive Committee has called an AGM according to our constitution and to comply with our obligations under the Charities Act 1993.

Nominations for election to the Executive Committee must be made by members of the Friends in writing and must be in the hands of the secretary of the Executive Committee at least 14 days before the AGM, so before Wednesday 28 June. Should nominations exceed vacancies, elections shall be by ballot.

Nominations should be sent to:
Viv Whittingham
c/o Friends of Windmill Gardens (Secretary)
24 Prague Place,
Blenheim Gardens,

London SW2 5ED

or email:

We will be considering the following resolution at the AGM:

This AGM asks Friends of Windmill Garden's new Executive Committee committee to immediately explore governance options to make Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) able to sign a lease and employ staff in the future.  To protect our members FoWG will need to become an incorporated body.   This AGM requests the Executive Committee organise a general meeting of FoWG members before September 30th, 2017 where members can consider and vote on their governance recommendation(s).

This is to ensure that  FoWG  becomes an incorporated body as it needs to do so before it can sign a lease with Lambeth Council for the new building.   If the resolution is agreed the Executive Committee will then be charged to progress a change of our governance, to consider all the options and make a recommendation to a general meeting of FoWG members so they make an informed decision.
